Hi, I’m Kathryn—Navy spouse, mom of three, and the creative behind By Kathryn Butler, where I help online business owners turn their big ideas into compelling copy that actually sells.
I started my business in the margins of military life—nap times, PCS moves, and late-night work sessions—after years of working in museums and marketing. Like many military spouses, I wanted work that was meaningful, flexible, and portable. Copywriting gave me all three. What began with blog posts and brand bios quickly grew into full-scale web copy projects and launch campaigns for women-led businesses across the country.
Today, I specialize in strategic storytelling and conversion copy, blending personality with polish so my clients feel confident and proud every time someone lands on their site.
Wherever we’re stationed, I’m grateful I get to build something of my own—while helping others grow theirs.

What I love most about being part of Spouse-ly is connecting with other military spouses and veterans who are building businesses in the middle of real life—moves, deployments, and all. The support here is genuine, the talent is incredible, and it’s encouraging to be in a space where everyone understands the unique challenges we face and still shows up with creativity and drive.
