City Gal Framed Poster

City Gal depicts a giraffe leaving the skyline behind her. The giraffe represents myself graduating from The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY. This time in my life was one of learning to rise above doubt in myself (then as a graphic designer and now as a professional artist). This also represents going out into the world trying to rise about the negative and begin a professional life.

Background story: I had a hard time in college. Handling turmoil of dealing with a past trauma, beginning a competitive program filled with talented persons, and fighting imposter syndrome. I remember being critiqued by 25 people and the professor, learning to take feedback with grace then keeping composure before crying in the bathroom. I graduated with realistic expectations of what working in the field may look like and a thicker skin that to this day has allowed me to use valuable feedback to propel my growth in my life’s journey.
