Description

“One Save” – a term used in the field of emergency medical services. The term is used when a person is bought back from cardiac arrest. A pulse returns and the brain has hope of functioning again. The EMS crew celebrates on a job well done.

Being a paramedic owned company, the name for this roast came to us as we served espresso on a Monday morning coffee pop-up. New York City’s workforce came in looking unrecoverable and lifeless until we handed them a shot of our specially roasted arabica coffee. One sip, and it seemed like they had been jolted with 360 joules of life reviving coffee. Back to life and ready to take on the workweek.

Specially roasted for your home espresso maker or cafe espresso machine, this 100% arabica coffee bean has strong flavors of caramel and the medium-bodied sweetness of brown sugar. Properly steamed milk will help bring the boldness and sweetness to your espresso drinks. As a drip, this coffee roast was our go-to coffee while on the road during our recent humanitarian mission. Served in a french press, slightly bold with sweet apple flavors at first sip and acidity and subtle boldness release as the brew cools.

“Getting a “Save” is one of the most satisfying feelings you can have as a paramedic. It’s an accumulation of all the hard work you’ve put into your skills, medical judgement, and scene control that led up to the moment. You’re not just saving a life, you’re bringing a life back.”

– Joseph Zoleta, New York Paramedic, Founder of Black 6 Coffee Trading Co.
