Description
The major benefit that a caregiver receives through OCC is our expertise and knowledge. Unless you routinely hire nannies, it is unlikely that you know how a nanny differs from a babysitter. Most people who hire a nanny only do so when their children are young, resulting in a steep learning curve. Nannies set aside an agreed-upon number of hours of their week to care for a child/children/household. If the families get out of work early or decide to take a day off to spend with the children, a nanny must still be compensated. If a family decides to take a vacation and does not need their nanny for a week, their nanny must still be compensated. These are just a few examples of differences that many do not know about as they do not typically occur with babysitters. We have these difficult conversations with our care seekers so that our caregivers do not need to. We set the expectation and stay in contact with all parties to ensure needs are being met.
