Hello and welcome! I’m Melina V. Nova — children’s book author, proud military wife, and literacy advocate passionate about creating meaningful stories that celebrate family, culture, patriotism, and the joy of learning.
For 30 years, I proudly served alongside my husband throughout his United States Air Force career, supporting military life, deployments, family transitions, and the incredible strength of the military community. Those experiences continue to inspire my heart for family-centered storytelling and my deep appreciation for military families.
Originally from Mexico, I learned to read and speak English at the age of 27 by checking out children’s books from public libraries. That journey changed my life and inspired me to create books that encourage children to learn with confidence, imagination, kindness, and joy.
My books — including Let’s Count at the Rockin’ C Ranch, M is for Mexico, and Happy 250th Birthday, America — are designed to inspire little learners while celebrating culture, language, literacy, and family connection.
